News Update from Merrepen Arts
Aboriginal Screen Printed Textiles from Australia’s Top End opens at the Fowler Museum in LA USA in 2020. Five Australian Art Centres are included in this exhibition including Merrepen Arts. This is the first exhibition of Australian Indigenous textiles to be shown in North America.
Kieren Karritpul fabric Fishnet and Marita Sambono’s Goose Egg will feature in the exhibition in Los Angeles alongside other fabrics from Merrepen artists Patricia McTaggart, Aaron McTaggart, Christina Yambeing, Dylan Minggun, Gracie Kumbi and AnnCarmel Mulvien.

Merren 2020: painting ceramics textiles will open at Tactile Arts Darwin 21 August. The exhibition will include 6 Merrepen Artists showing new painting, ceramics and textiles.
Marita Sambono’s new design Billabong, the carpet for the renovated Darwin International Airport, will be opened late 2021.

The Merrepen Arts, Culture and Sports Festival will be held again in Nauiyu Daly River in 2021.
