Marita Sambono

Marita has been a painter all her life. Her work is exhibited in major collections including the Powerhouse Museum, The National Gallery of Australia, Artbank and North Territory Government collection. Her fabric design, “The Fog Dreaming”, was chosen for design of a dress that won Melbourne Cup Myer Fashion on the Field award in 2015. The design is still very popular. Marita has been commissioned to design the carpet for the new Darwin International Airport terminal. Marita’s fabric designs are included in the 2020 exhibition at the Fowler Museum in Los Angeles. A solo exhibition is being planned in Darwin in 2020.

She has recently been commissioned to design the carpet for the Darwin International Airport.
